These three cards together make me think about the things we put our energy into as we move through life. We work hard, we build. We create. We transform. Relationships, jobs, creative projects, raising children, leveling up in a video game, writing a book; these are all things that require a great deal of energy input in order to receive some kind of desired output. The page of wands is a confident figure; having survived the trials and tribulations of the journey of spirit and engery, the page is in a good place. A single wand is held in his hands as he gazes at the fine staff; he has used his energy and his spirit to get to a good place. He wears fine clothes and yellow boots; a white feathered hat covering his head and a cape to keep him warm. He has made it and he takes a moment to admire the fruits of his labor.
The other two cards depict characters still in the process of the work; either building the physical world you want or fending off the attacks of others who want to take what you have created. I often think about the seven of wands as my own self trying to destroy what I created; often my own fears and anxieties siphon away the energy I need to stand my ground and fortify my own place in this world.
Optimism abounds here; the page is proof of that. The work is worth it; the defense of what you believe is worth it. You will get there, you just might have to go through some harder trials before you do.
