A new month and we see The Ace of Wands make an appearance tonight; Spring is here and we are in a season of new growth. A dear friend and I were emailing/texting about some hardships I am going through right now and a phrase he used really stuck with me, ‘a season of uprooting’. These past few months have certainly been a time of uprooting for me; a time of detaching myself from the ground, from the nourishment I thought I needed my whole life. When we uproot, we are taking a major risk; why would anyone want to leave the life-giving soil bed that has supported us for so long, helped us to grow and flourish and been there to weather all the storms? Sometimes this uprooting is necessary. Sometimes it takes a leap to discover the world out there is not as bad as we thought it was; and, if you’re lucky, it might even be better.
So when we see the Ace of Wands; a harbinger of growth and change and positivity and new creative projects let us also think about what had to happen to get here; we had to uproot. Growth and change cannot happen with energy; and that energy can be all different types. The Wands always remind me of the energy we need to move through life; everything runs on energy. That spark that first shakes it way into our cells and causes our first little heart beat is energy transforming; it is a moment of potential becoming actual; of the thought and idea of energy, of life, becoming the thing itself. Energy fuels all we do. The Wand is this energy waiting to happen. The hand holding the wand, blowing in on the wind, to me, reminds me of the wind kicking up stuff; of the trees shaking and the movement caused by a gust of wind; this is how new plants and flowers are born and spread; the wind picks up their seeds and scatters them across the land. We need the energy to grow but we also need something else; we need the wind, the will. The desire to change. To uproot. We need to find that thing that transforms thought into energy into the thing itself. If we remain rooted, we may never be carried away to anything new by the winds of change.
Follow the Ace this month. Think about new creative projects new growth, new changes and chances and what it took for you to get to a place where you feel ready to take that chance. Newness is sprouting; you just need to be willing to uproot yourself to find it.
